Anthropic reportedly agreed to pay SpaceX nearly $45 billion over three years for computing resources to support Claude, according to a securities filing covered by Bloomberg Law.

That works out to roughly $1.25 billion per month, which is a rent payment so large it stops sounding financial and starts sounding geological.

The deal turns AI compute into a visible balance-sheet object: a cloud bill with a launch vehicle logo and the kind of monthly number that makes ordinary infrastructure spending look polite.

The deal reportedly runs until 2029 with a 90-day exit clause. We are not sure what comes after infrastructure spending at this altitude, but the cloud budget should probably get its own weather system.
